The Social Production of Gender

During the weekend of the 20th and the 21st of December 2025, at the Miljenko Dereta Space in Belgrade, the Laboratory for Feminist Politics, in cooperation with BeFem, organized an educational module titled Social Production of Gender: Ideologies, Practices and Resistances, intended for journalists, students, cultural workers, and activists. The focus was on discussing how gender roles are produced and the ways gender serves as a political weapon, unpaid women’s labor, the history of feminist resistance and contemporary forms of struggle, including those in digital spaces. Through the exchange of knowledge, experience and solidarity, we built a space for critical thought, empowerment and connection.
